Pre and Post Test Example Image

A comparison of parts coated before and after training. Notice the drastic reduction in the amount of overspray on the backdrops before (right) to after (left).

The IWRC has established an online database to assist military bases in tracking data for the STAR4D program. The database enables instructors and military personnel to record and calculate data to compare results of both pre and post training tests. By entering results from both tests, the database can measure the amount of material savings, transfer efficiency and VOC emissions to evaluate the effectiveness of the training. The online database is an easy and efficient tool to track results of the STAR4D training.

Results from a three day training session typically see nearly 15 percent savings in coatings used. Example: If a facility averages 50 gallons of coatings used per week then over the course of a year nearly 400 gallons of primer or top coat would be saved!
